1. For peripheral venous blood collection: After selecting the blood vessel, insert the needle using the standard scalp vein needle technique. Once blood return is observed, secure the needle with an IV dressing. Hold the needle handle and connector with your left hand, and insert the end of the blood collection device into the vacuum tube with your right hand. Select the appropriate blood collection tube before collection, and change the tube immediately after collection. The needle insertion angle should be chosen based on the patient's size and the condition of the blood vessels.
2. For femoral vein blood collection: For patients with hemorrhagic shock, generalized edema, or other conditions where venous blood collection from the extremities is difficult, the femoral vein blood collection using a vacuum venous collection needle has a high success rate. After routine skin disinfection, the operator holds the blood collection needle in their right hand and inserts it at a 90° angle to the skin at the femoral vein location. Once blood return is observed, stop inserting the needle, stabilize the vein with the right hand, and hold the vacuum blood collection tube with the left hand. Insert the needle into the tube; blood will automatically flow into the tube. Remove the needle after the required blood volume is reached.
3. Vacuum blood collection needles are used for tandem infusion, flushing, or emptying of fluids. Two or more bottles of the same or non-incompatible fluids are connected in series for infusion or flushing. Blood is collected before infusion using blood collection needles.
