Disposable medical syringes, also known as disposable injection syringes, are medical devices. Invented between 1949 and 1950, disposable plastic syringes were introduced in 1955. They are typically made of materials such as polypropylene and are mainly divided into two-piece and three-piece designs.
They are primarily used for subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous injections. Their single-use nature effectively prevents cross-infection. As a Class III medical device, their production must comply with national standards such as GB 15810. Weigao and Kangdelai are major brands in this field. After use, they must be disposed of properly as medical waste.
Disposable sterile syringes can be classified into two categories based on their structure: two-piece and three-piece. A two-piece syringe consists of an outer casing and a plunger. A three-piece syringe consists of an outer casing, a plunger, and a piston.
